How can I become involved in Gold Week?
It's easy! You can host your own Gold Lunch fundraising event and ask your family, friends or work mates to attend. You can also make a donation or buy a Gold Week badge at any NSW branch of the National Australia Bank or you can buy a pin at any NSW Big W store, The Coffee Club, Millers Fashion Stores and Harris Farm Markets.
How can I learn more about the work of the Hospital?
To find out about the wonderful work of the Hospital, we can add your name to our mailing list so you will receive our quarterly newsletters.
How will the funds I raise during Gold Week help the Hospital?
All funds raised during Gold Week will contribute greatly to the Hospital's area of greatest need. Most departments within the Hospital will benefit in some way from Gold Week funds. This can be in the form of equipment that the department may require or it could be through sponsoring a specialist fellowship or funding essential emergency and outreach programs for seriously ill children in all parts of the state.
How can I make a donation?
WWe accept donations made by cash, cheque and all major credit cards. You can make a donation by phoning 1800 644 336 during business hours, faxing a donaton form with your credit card details to (02) 9314 6195 or online NOW or you can make a donation at any NSW Branch of the National Australia Bank.
Are donations tax deductible?
The Foundation has Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status and therefore all pure donations of $2.00 or more are tax deductible. Donations are only tax deductible if there is no additional benefit to the donor other than, an official receipt to acknowledge the donation. Admittance to events, auction items and raffles are not tax deductible.
What is your cost of fundraising?
We pride ourselves on keeping our cost of fundraising to a minimum. In the 05-06 financial year our cost of fundraising was only 5 cents in the dollar.
Can I specify the area within the Hospital that I want my Gold Week donation to support?
No. Gold Week funds are distributed to the area of most need within the Hospital. It may be used to support any one of our many specialised departments.
Do you have merchandise for sale?
Yes. Special Gold Week badges will be available throughout NSW through our many partners including: BIG W Store, The Coffee Club, Millers Fashion Club Stores for the month of June. You can also buy a badge at your local National Bank branch in NSW or simply make a donation. You can also buy a badge on the street on Gold Week Day June 2, 2008.
How can I raise funds to help the Hospital?
There are many ways you can make a difference for our patients and their families. Individuals, corporations, community groups and schools all support the Hospital with various fundraising activities. These include corporate sponsorship, payroll giving, special events, in-memoriam and in-celebration, monthly donations, collection tins and more. Can anyone Host a Gold Lunch event or activity for the Hospital during Gold Week?
Yes. There are specific guidelines that must be followed but every host will receive a host kit which will include helpful ideas and tips for fundraising at your Gold Lunch. An easy raffle will also be included with raffle tickets and full details of the prize to be won. All events and activities must be approved to ensure they meet NSW fundraising regulations and the ethics and policies of the Hospital and Foundation. Once approval is granted (it's usually a quick process) fundraisers are issued with an Authorisation to Fundraise (ATF). This ATF is a legally binding document allowing you to collect funds on behalf of the Foundation.
