At channel 9 mainly as a weather presenter for the 4:30 and 6pm news bulletins. This includes researching, writing, collecting footage, helping to organise locations if need be, then presenting the weather which is live.
Have also done the odd fill in for Today Show weather, Mornings with Kerri - Anne, Lotto, Footy Show etc...
2) What is the funniest thing that has happened to you at work?
Doing a weather cross at the Easter Show a couple of years ago. I went on a ride called the "Mega Drop" and as I went up we went to the weather maps and I was talking about the temperatures. We then realised we were not actually on air yet, so our team was yelling..."get her down, she's not on yet" The speed of over 200km/h we fell and JUST as I jumped out of the ride they crossed to me, and we had to start from the beginning... you couldn't have timed it any better!!!
3) What inspired you to become involved with Gold Week and the Sydney Children's Hospital?
I was inspired by Gold Week mainly because the money raised goes to providing life-saving equipment for seriously ill children across NSW. I have always had a passion for working with children and have spent many years performing in children's shows. When I worked at Ch9 I jumped at the chance to be involved where possible including weather crosses and visits. Having an 18month old son, I also realise the importance of good care and hospitals. We needed to take Hayden (our son) once to the Sydney Children's Hospital and the care was just amazing and we felt 100% confident with the staff.
4) What do you love about being an ambassador?
Being able to get together and raise money and awareness for the hospital with such a rewarding team. To meet some of the inspiring patients, their families and staff. It is such an honour to be asked and I am really looking forward to a year of great work with the hospital.
5) The Sydney Children's Hospital helps kids to 'Celebrate Life' how do you best celebrate life?
To be as positive as I can be. Enjoy the wonderful company of friends, family and fellow work mates, and to appreciate what I HAVE got rather than what I might not have.
6) What makes you get out of bed each morning?
My beautiful son with his cheeky smile, and my partner Ed. Most mornings we go down to the beach as a family and catch up with other friends and let our children play. A great way to start the day and we know how fortunate we are.
7) What makes you happy?
People who are positive, honest and motivating, great music, warm, sunny weather, delicious food and great company.
8) In 3 words, how would you describe the Sydney Children's Hospital?
